This quilt was made in response to a Chagrin Valley Quilt Guild president’s challenge.  The challenge was to create a quilt depicting a road running through an important time in your life.  The roads connected over thirty quilts that have been displayed as a group in the Chagrin Falls Library.

The Avenue of the Giants is on old highway 101 going through Humboldt County, CA. While I was growing up my family spent summers visiting friends in Redway, CA, on the Eel River.  The smell of the redwoods takes me back to my childhood home.
