A month or so before my son, Matthew, turned 40 his wife, Erin, sent an invitation to a gallery opening party celebrating his birthday.  Erin asked everyone to contribute artwork for the show with Matthew as the subject.  I dropped everything and did this small portrait of him in greyscale.
