This is my first portrait quilt.  It was inspired by a photo taken on a trip to Kanyakumari, India, exactly one year before the huge tsunami hit the same area.  I have often wondered if this man made it through the tsunami.  It was truly a learning piece, but I still enjoy looking at it and remembering.
