For this quilt, I designed pieced leaf blocks and assembled them.  Then I had to figure out how to assemble the odd sizes into a quilt.  I built a grid of 1” squares and cut millions of 1” x 1”, and 1” x  2” pieces out of dark fabrics.  I laboriously pieced the large quilt together and quilted it using big stitch,  hand-dyed thread and leaf designs.
