Joy is the creation of Gwen White.  Gwen and I both teach quilting to the inmates at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, OR.  Last fall our Wednesday night group of teachers went on a three day retreat and I worked with three of my fellow teachers on creating portraits.  Gwen knew immediately that she wanted to capture her granddaughter, Riley, and her favorite lobster dinner.  You can see the joy in Riley’s face . . . a wonderful grandmother’s memory!
