The only class I teach is on portraits.  What I have learned is portraits are not always of people.  My friend Sara Miller decided to do a portrait of a building in downtown Portland!  Not only a building, but a building reflected in the windows of another building!!  I don’t know of another artist who has Sara’s level of meticulous focus on details.  The result: Phantom Reflections, one of my all time favorite art quilts. Sara was not really a student of mine, but I don’t have a category for friends’ quilts.
