Sal is the result of a challenge from a small group I belonged to in Portland.  The challenge was to make a 12″ X 12″ quilt that illustrated the word “Zoom!”  I zoomed in on a photo of Salvador Dali and then did a playful take on his famous pencil thin mustache.  It was a fun diversion and I may do more small portraits.  I was invited to submit a quilt to the 2014 International Quilt Association Auction at the Houston Show and now Sal has a new home in NYC.
