After the drab experience with the DAR project I was determined to find my color-voice.  I dumped my entire fabric stash on the floor of my studio and set out to find the fabrics that resonated with me.  I picked up each piece and decided if it made me feel energetic and positive, or heavy and guilty for not using it.  Autumn Purple Picnic came from the energetic, positive pile and it is one of my favorites.  The leaves are embroidered with my hand-dyed fabric and the quilt is quilted using big-stitch and hand-dyed thread.
